Author Biography

Augustine Kalemeera, Pastoral Studies Department in the Faculty of Theology at St. Mbaaga Seminary and Institute of Philosophy and Psychology.

a PhD psychotherapist and priest, who is a 2007 Counseling Psychology graduate of Marquette University in Wisconsin.  

Fr. Augustine is a professor of Pastoral Counseling and Introduction to Sociocultural Anthropology at St. Mbaaga Major Seminary and Institute of Philosophy and Theology, Kampala, Uganda. In addition, he is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Mental Health and Community Psychology at Makerere University.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, Fr. Augustine and several colleagues started an initiative called Thrive and Prosper (TAP), which works with staff and students in high schools to promote stress management and resilience, as well as inclusive school culture.

Fr. Augustine is also on the planning team of the annual International East African Psychology Conference.
