Dr. Allan Kalungi (Ph.D.)
He is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Psychiatry, Makerere University, and a Senior Fellow of the Global Initiative for Neuropsychiatric Genetics Education in Research (GINGER) program of MIT and Harvard.
He is currently a NARSAD young investigator and his work is investigating the genetic risk for major depressive disorder among ancestrally diverse participants from Eastern (Uganda, Kenya, and Ethiopia) and Southern Africa (South Africa), who are attending the NeuroGAP-Psychosis study.
His research interest is in studying whether the comorbidity between major depressive disorder and schizophrenia is genetically distinct from depression using NeuroGAP study participants as well as data from the schizophrenia group of the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium (PGC) and the major depressive disorder group of the PGC respectively.
Mr. Andrew Seruma Kizito (Ph.D. Fellow)
He is a Ph.D. fellow in Agribusiness Management, Egerton University in Kenya, and a Short-term Consultant at Uganda Martyrs University, Kampala Uganda in the areas of Agribusiness Management and Agricultural Price Analysis & Taxation.
He is currently a Researcher/ Project Coordinator at NHK-JAPAN, A Project on JICA Technical Cooperation Project on “Communication in Agriculture‟ to increase Technology and fight poverty.
He has experience as a Senior Researcher and Consultant at Consultancy Services on a survey of Designing 5 Small Irrigation Schemes in Upper Central, Northern, and West Nile Regions of Uganda. Lot 4: Nakaseke, Nakasongola, Luweero, Masindi and Kiryandongo, in Cooperation with Kagga & Partners and Ministry of Water and Environment-Uganda and the Project for Institutional Capacity Development of South Sudan TV & Radio, ” A Farming program for Refugees‟ in Arua (Bidi-Bidi- Camp) and Moyo Districts”, Supported by JICA- (Japan International Cooperation Agency. His research interest is in Agribusiness.
